The UK Creative Industries is the first report of its kind, exploring the power and potential of the UK’s creative industries to regenerate places, rebuild the economy, drive innovation and create jobs in all parts of the UK. Set to be published annually, and featuring voices ranging from comedian and film entrepreneur Lenny Henry to newly elected Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin, former minister of state Jo Johnson and KISS FM's Swarzy, the report shows how creativity can not only enable us to bounce back from the pandemic, but carve out a new position for the UK on the global stage.
This is a space to showcase the power of our creative industries, to the world and to key decision-makers who will play a part in shaping our future. What are you doing to make your community a better place, and why is it so important to support the UK creative industries as we begin to open up again?
To coincide with the report launch, we have launched our campaign, #WeAreCreative. The campaign aims to show the government just how powerful the creative industries are and crucially, what can be unlocked with the right investment. We know that Creative Industries can, not only bounce back, but drive the regeneration of every community. They can make our areas happier and healthier, and they can unlock opportunities for the next generation. But now we need the government to realise this too.
Get involved by using the hashtag #WeAreCreative on social media, showcasing just how brilliant your creativity and creative work really is. This can be through sharing content you’ve made, showing pictures of your work, writing a post showing how much value you bring to the community, or creating something bespoke. The more creative, the better! Remember to tag your MP, or write a letter to them directly so they can see just how crucial the Creative Industries really are to their constituency.Write to your MP
