Founded and developed by passionate and established educator Tracy Firth, Cherish’s core product is a daily course of short, habit-forming, wellbeing videos, combining storytelling and movement for use in primary school classroom settings. Drawing on the latest neuroscientific research about how children learn best, Cherish works with a strong team of experts in the national and international education landscape. Alongside high-quality production values, the team creates powerful storytelling and experiential learning resources that help develop children’s mental health skills and emotional well-being.

How this year’s shaped up

Feedback from trialling schools found that Cherish seamlessly became a part of the fabric of a busy school day, blending into the curriculum and school ethos. Continuing to collaborate closely with production companies, Cherish has been offering high-quality animation and film content, proving its value through research case studies on the impact of their learning resources in schools. They continue to enjoy a loyal client base, with repeat buyers and a growing database of customers, with word-of-mouth remaining one of their strongest marketing tools for multi-academy trusts and local authorities.

After Cherish, 78% of children said they knew how to be calm when they felt angry.

2023 / 2024 Highlights

  • A trial showed 100% of teachers had favourable comments about the Cherish programme, identifying positive impacts on the participants.
  • Collaborating with lecturers from Falmouth University to help develop digital resources.
  • Working on a development project with Camborne College from mid-June to the end of July.
  • Expansion of team to include a CTO, with plans to evolve this to a co-directorship.

Where they’re setting their 2024/25 sights

Striking out to new customer bases in the UK and internationally, Cherish hopes to develop new content, adapting its business model with new income streams, such as innovative digital deliveries and in-person workshops in schools and communities. Cherish is in the process of expanding its team, including planning for a new co-director, who is currently inhabiting a CTO role. Extending the income streams of the business model will enable Cherish to increase profitability, while streamlining development shall also enable them to increase income in the future. Towards the end of 2024, the team has the opportunity to raise limited seed funding to fit their project, which has the potential to be matched with non-equity funding.

Growing with Creative UK

“We took excellent learnings through all aspects of business with the programme, which along with the contacts we made propelled Cherish forward, forging a pathway through the complex world of business. The events were inspiring and perfectly pitched, and we’re grateful to everyone for their energy, focus and tireless support.”
