Empowering autistic children to complete everyday tasks using gamified digital play, Spectrum Tailored Technologies LTD, with its single-task app Jam Up!, is helping individuals and their families gain more independence.

Spectrum Tailored Technologies LTD, heading to market in September 2024 with its application JamUp!, has been focused on building its community technology development model. Placing a significant emphasis on a co-production approach, collaborating with autistic children and their parents/carers, they’re creating technology that hones in on real-time use, to genuinely make a difference.

How this year’s shaped up

The JamUp! app has now been wire-framed, evaluated, and developed, ready to be shared with more focus groups. Spectrum Tailored Technologies LTD has been successfully seeking investment and long-term champions for its app, tapping into the innovation, health, and education sectors. Since beginning the programme in 2023, it has raised over £90k worth of support. Through opportunities with Slush’d and Creative UK, Jam Up! is building in both momentum and expertise.

2023 / 2024 Highlights

• The team’s tooth cleaning task has been developed with support from the University of Plymouth, Angela Ruskin University and SMILE.
• Runners Up in the Essex Care Tech Challenge (February 2024).

Where they’re setting their 2024/25 sights

The next stage in their journey is to secure further investment to build and establish their final product and start making sales. These will take the form of larger B2B purchases in the health and education sectors alongside B2C sales.
