Creative UK Investments announces new Board

• New Board members will help Creative UK Investments build on success of over £68m already invested into Creative Industries.
• Impact investment expert, Ida Levine, angel investing visionary, Ali Kazmi and Financial Advisor, Julien Nurse complete Board’s formation 

Creative UK Investments has announced the formation of a newly established Board as it continues to invest in the growth of the UK’s Creative Industries. Having invested over £68 million into creative companies over the past 10 years, Creative UK Investments now underpins its future funding plans with the backing of an expert Board.  

This strategic move underscores Creative UK Investments’ commitment to improving access to capital for Creative and Cultural organisations. As part of the wider Creative UK non-profit organisation, the investments company follows a remit that prioritises fostering innovation and empowering the Creative Industries to thrive. 

The new Board brings together a powerhouse of expertise, experience, and visionary leadership, each member uniquely equipped to guide Creative UK Investments in its ambitious growth trajectory. The Board is chaired by Dr Steve Perry, who joined in March 2024. A distinguished leader with extensive experience in C-Suite Leadership, finance and governance, Dr Perry’s stewardship is set to provide invaluable strategic direction as Creative UK looks to develop new funds into the creative sector. 

Joining Dr Perry are the following exceptional individuals: 

• Ida Levine: A recognised expert in impact investment, governance, and capital markets, Ida brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of sustainable finance and regulatory frameworks. 

• Julien Nurse: Julien brings 26 years of financial services business ownership to the team. As a Partner of Cartlidge Morland, Julien has dedicated his career to delivering returns to investors and has joined Creative UK Investments to support Creative UK in continuing its mission.   

• Ali Kazmi: A social activist and visionary entrepreneur on a mission to make the world of angel investing more diverse and inclusive. Ali’s passion and focus is critical to ensuring that Creative UK’s new investment funds are authentic to their inclusive mission.  

Ida, Julien and Ali will be joining existing Board members Gideon Spanier, Mike Kennedy, and Caroline Norbury.  

• Gideon Spanier: With an extensive background in media and communications, Gideon’s strategic expertise will enhance our ability to amplify the cultural and social value generated by our investments. 

• Mike Kennedy: A seasoned fund advisor and portfolio expert, Mike’s contribution will be pivotal in ensuring effective systems and long-term sustainability. 

• Caroline Norbury OBE: Creative UK CEO and Founder who also sits on the Creative Industries Council. Caroline’s vision underpins all that Creative UK does to support and propel the growth of the Cultural and Creative Industries. 

The formation of this expert Board reflects the dedication of Creative UK Investments in its mission to bridge the funding gap for Creative and Cultural organisations. By enabling greater access to capital, Creative UK Investments aims to unleash the sector’s potential for economic growth, while amplifying its cultural and social contributions.
