Today, Tuesday 1st April, Creative UK is delighted to share more great news from its landmark investment fund, Creative Growth Finance, as online crowdfunding company Crowdfunder has received an additional £500k from the fund. This further strengthens the relationship between Creative UK and Crowdfunder, bringing the total investment to nearly £1.5 million.
Founded in 2011, Crowdfunder has grown to become the go-to platform for social giving. Now they are primed for the future, with an ambitious new exec team on board and a strong, long-term vision for growth.
Driven by a desire to think creatively and tackle societal challenges through community-driven change and engagement, their ambition is to redefine fundraising on a global scale, with a goal of raising over £1 billion for impactful community projects.
With renewed investment, Crowdfunder aim to make strategic hires and investments to drive future revenue growth. The funding will support critical roles, bolster platform enhancements, and further align the business with emerging trends in fundraising.
Rahul Misra, Investment Principal at Creative UK commented:
Creative UK’s mission is to unlock creative potential and empower ideas that create meaningful impact. Crowdfunder exemplifies this perfectly, using social fundraising as a platform to drive positive change in the world, and doing so on a commercially sustainable basis with a vision for growth. With this latest investment, alongside an experienced exec team and well-defined strategy, they are well-positioned to reach new heights and deliver on their growth ambitions. We look forward to continuing our partnership and seeing the incredible projects they help bring to life.
Hannah Long, Portfolio Manager at Creative UK commented:
Having started as an equity portfolio client through the RGF programme in 2014 and then joining CGF in 2021, we are very proud of our longstanding relationship with Crowdfunder. As Portfolio Manager, I am delighted that with our recent investment, we will be able to continue this partnership as they embark on the next stage of their transformational growth journey in the fundraising space. I look forward to continuing to work with the brilliant minds within the business, offering support, guidance and of course, cheerleading from the sidelines, as they strive towards their goals.
Dawn Bébe, Founder & Co-CEO at Crowdfunder also commented:
This additional investment from Creative UK represents more than just funding – it’s a powerful endorsement of our vision to transform the fundraising market and how communities can drive positive change. As we approach our goal of facilitating £1 billion for impactful projects, this partnership gives us the strategic resources to scale our platform and reach more changemakers globally. The creative industries have always been at the forefront of innovation, and with Creative UK’s continued support, we’re reimagining what’s possible in the fundraising space. This investment allows us to build on our proven model while exploring exciting new directions that will empower more people to turn their ideas into reality – and transform giving. It’s a very exciting step.
