Directed by J.J Abrams, this hotly tipped return to the ‘Star Wars’ universe picks up 30 years after ‘Return of the Jedi’ and follows a new group of heroes who must try to restore balance to the force. Revisiting this character-rich environment required finding locations that could pass for new worlds, alien strongholds and rebel bases, many of which were found in right here in England.

This is the third film created as part of our new series of shorts made in partnership with The GREAT Britain Campaign and Walt Disney Motion Pictures. Creative England are working alongside these partners to highlight and promote the wealth of locations available to national and international productions within Regional England. Previous installments featured recent live-action Disney features ‘Into The Woods’, which shot in Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Kent and Hertfordshire, and ‘Cinderella’ which filmed sequences in Devon, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
